BEIJING, Feb. 25 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Xi Jinping met with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz in Beijing on Wednesday.

北京，2月25日（新华社）——中国国家主席习近平25日在北京会见德国总理弗里德里希·默茨。

Merz said that the German side values its relations with China and firmly upholds the one-China policy. It stands ready to work with China to carry forward the traditional friendship, stay committed to mutual respect and open cooperation, and continue to deepen the all-around strategic partnership.

默茨表示，德方重视对华关系，坚定奉行一个中国政策。愿同中方一道，传承传统友谊，坚持相互尊重和开放合作，继续深化全方位战略伙伴关系。

BEIJING, March 9 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Xi Jinping on Monday sent a congratulatory message to Antonio Jose Seguro on assuming the presidency of the Portuguese Republi.

北京，3月9日（新华社）——中国国家主席习近平向葡萄牙共和国新任总统安东尼奥·若泽·塞古罗致贺电。

Xi said that he attaches great importance to the development of China-Portugal relations and is ready to work with Seguro to enhance strategic communication, consolidate high-level mutual trust, promote high-quality cooperation, and continuously enrich the connotation of the China-Portugal comprehensive strategic partnership, so as to bring more benefits to the people of both countries.

MANOSQUE, France, March 14 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Xi Jinping recently replied to a letter from teachers and students of the Chinese language class at the Provence-Alpes-Cote d’Azur International School in France.

法国马诺斯克3月14日电（新华社）——中国国家主席习近平近日复信法国普罗旺斯-阿尔卑斯-蓝色海岸大区国际学校中文班师生。

In his reply, Xi expressed hope that the students will take the lead and become pillars of China-France and China-Europe friendship and cooperation.
